Mini World History

About MiniWorldPrint
The cover of the first issue of MiniWorldThe very first issue of MiniWorld was published in the Summer of 1991 and it has been the world's favourite and the best-selling magazine for the Mini ever since. MiniWorld started as a spin-off from the popular Cars and Car Conversions (CCC)magazine and was created to celebrate the Mini legend.

Our regular columnist, the late John Cooper CBE, doubted that there was enough interest to sustain a monthly magazine but the international Mini scene was already a force to be reckoned with. John inspired Rover to revive the Mini Cooper brand and the Mini marque was saved from certain doom. Japan became Rover's biggest Mini single market and some estimate that they have as many Minis on the road there as we have in the UK.

MiniWorld was originally started as a quarterly magazine and then went monthly from November 1992. It has engendered quite a few popular spin-off magazines. The Keeping Your Mini Alive series featured a range of specialist Mini jobs, which were essential reading for new or experienced Mini fans, helping Mini tuners and Mini restorers alike. Another spin-off was New Mini. First published in summer of 2004, it was bursting with the most insanely modified New Minis from around the world plus loads of shopping ideas on how to modify and get the best out of your New Mini.

The MiniWorld Show is not an annual event but we have run several shows at venues including NEC Birminghan and Sandown Park in Esher, Surrey. We also sponsor the key Mini events in the UK such as Riviera Run and London to Brighton Mini Run in May, National Mini Show and MiniWorld Action Day in September and MiniWorld Winter Warmer in November. Our unofficial rally team (Peter Barker and Willy Cave) compete in high profile European Historic events like the Monte Carlo Histroique, Rallye des Alpes Histroique and the Lombard Revival Rally.

Today, MiniWorld is a meeting point and a shopping centre for all the people around the world who love the original Issigonis-designed Mini. We're on sale in 97 countries and our features range from classic restorations to radical custom designs, rallying, racing, tuning and, most importantly, Mini friends and Mini clubs from all over the world.
